Official website of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency Edo State, Nigeria.

The Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA) was established as an agency with the statutory responsibility of traffic management within Benin City and Edo State.

Our Vision

To develop a culture of regulation, control, and management of traffic to reduce time wastage and accidents on Edo State roads.

Our Mission

To reduce to the barest minimum deaths, injuries, and economic losses through road traffic accidents, conflicts, and delays on roads in Edo State by employing modern traffic systems.

Our Objectives

Ensure the safety of all road users in Edo State.

Improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on Edo State roads.

Educate the public on road safety measures and regulations.

Enforce traffic laws and regulations effectively and fairly.

Provide job opportunities for the youth through traffic management initiatives.

Our functions

Control, management, enforcement, and regulation of traffic-related matters within Edo State. 

Public education and enlightenment of drivers and motorists on the proper use of highways.

Traffic safety and accident management.

Enforcing compliance with regulatory requirements and standards to maintain industry integrity and public trust.

Training of drivers.

Evacuation, rescue, and towing of broken down and abandoned vehicles.

Conducting research on driver behaviors and traffic safety.

Installing and maintaining traffic control devices on highways.

The Managing Director (Super Tracker) deploys the human and material resources of the Agency to ensure the attainment of the aims and objectives of the State Government, exercising general supervision and control over members of the Agency.

The Principal Officers Unit in headquarter operations includes:

  • Assistant Head of Operation – Pellet
  • Emergency, Rescue, and Training Department
  • EDSTMA Police Unit
